South Park

South Park is an American animated sitcom produced by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for Comedy Central. Debuting in 1997, the show is well known for its' dark humour that satirizes a wide variety of topics such as politics.

From the 187+ rating of this series, we get the idea that the show targets towards a rather mature audience. South Park was the first rated TV-MA weekly program. Preferably, those in the age range of 18 to 35. The intended target audience from this cover is 18-35 old males who have completed secondary education, the main purpose of the young adult audience is to probably promote brand loyalty. As well as this, the desire of an adult audience is to address rather 'taboo' adult topics with the use of young characters in education. Therefore, an adult audience which can understand the adult and even political ideologies covered with humour is desired for Comedy Central.

The series cover uses humour as a persuasive tool to draw attention and make the advertisement more reliable. Of course, the humours appeal covers the main ideologies of South Park, but the cover undergrounds political ideologies too. The use of a wide variety of characters used in the cover highlights the diversity of the series and how varied the episodes can be, from this, those in the psychographic category of 'the explorers' may be attracted to this due to the offerings and the use of variety bringing in excitement, as well as their core need in life is for discovery. The style and the appearance of the characters highlights how the main purposes of the series is to bring entertainment and humour to the audience, whilst highlighting the characters' characteristics.
